Dolores Martí de Cid professor and expert on Latin American literature received her doctorate in "Filosofía y Letras" in 1943, from the University of Havana. She married José Cid Pérez, a prominent Cuban playwright, in 1939, and both left Cuba in 1960 after the communist took over the government.
